Narrative
Program has teachers to work with people who are blind in their living environment or at day activity site. Staff works closely with person to develop skills. They use a uniquely tailored program.
Rehabilitation Teachers or Vision Rehabilitation Therapists instruct persons with vision impairments in the use of compensatory skills and assistive technology. We work to enable them to live safe, productive, and independent lives.
Skills evaluation and instruction occurs in the home, assisted living facilities, long term care facilities and on job sites. Specialized teaching services, including some fairly simple devices and techniques, can improve a person who is legally blind's quality of life. Services are planned and provided on a one-to-one based on the person's needs, interests and aptitudes.
