What is Hospice?
Hospice is a program for those facing a life-limiting illness. The focus of care changes from a curative approach to one of pain and symptom management. It is about living each day by enhancing quality of life with caring support to meet patient goals.

When is the right time to consider Hospice care?

Hospice can be considered when the goal of care changes to managing symptoms. Your doctor determines that a life-limiting illness has a prognosis of 6 months or less if the disease runs its normal course. Services are available for all ages and patients do not need to be homebound. The best time to learn about Hospice is before you need it.
