Narrative

Our CHAI Works day program fosters community, understanding, and personal fulfillment in people with disabilities (PwD). We help them lead productive and integrated lives in their communities. They increase their feelings of self-worth and confidence.

We do this through:

  • volunteering
  • health and wellness education and activities
  • recreation
  • social enrichment programming
  • community experiences

We believe personal identity is enhanced through one’s achievements. We work to empower people through education and skill-building experiences. CHAI Works helps adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) become more independent. They can pursue individual goals, and experience the gratification of meaningful, productive activity. Our community-integrated day programming builds skills and reflects the interests of members.

Participants eligible for the CHAI Works Day Program are generally funded by the Department of Developmental Services (DDS) or MCD. Private pay options are available.
