Organization Narrative

The Metro Suburban Recovery Learning Community is one of six regional Recovery Learning Communities funded by the Department of Mental Health. We collaborate with current peer run organizations and providers to create activities facilitated by people with mental health conditions.

Creates a network of peer run activities and offers information and referral resources. We provide trauma informed care and culturally sensitive peer support. Additionally, we offer self-help activities, peer advocacy, training opportunities, support to Peer Specialists and other peers working in traditional mental health settings. Our goal is to stimulate and participate in a culture change that establishes a focus on promoting resilience, wellness recovery and empowerment rather than a narrow focus on symptom reduction.

Serves the following communities:  Acton, Arlington, Ashland, Bedford, Belmont, Boxborough, Braintree, Burlington, Canton, Carlisle, Cohasset, Concord, Dedham, Dover, Foxborough, Framingham, Hingham, Holliston, Hopkinton, Hudson, Hull, Lexington, Lincoln, Littleton, Marlborough, Maynard, Medfield, Millis, Milton, Natick, Needham, Newton, Norfolk, Northborough, Norwell, Norwood, Plainville, Quincy, Randolph, Scituate, Sharon, Sherborn, Southborough, Stow, Sudbury, Walpole, Waltham, Watertown, Wayland, Wellesley, Westborough, Weston, Westwood, Weymouth, Wilmington, Winchester, Woburn, Wrentham.
